Background on Robin Gecht
After reading about the savage crimes of the "Chicago Rippers," there was something I just had to ask Robin Gecht, the gang's alleged leader. Why was he so obsessed with women’s breasts? In almost every murder his gang is suspected of committing, there was grotesque mutilation of their victims’ breasts. "Well, in answer to your question on obsession with breast," Gecht replied, "It is a thing with my entire family going back as I’m told to great grandfather." Gecht explains, "Each of us men have married large breast women. My ex-wife is a 39D and yes she was very satisfying to me." Then again, Robin later told me: "As to your question about having sex with breast...I have no real obsession with breast in that form. Only a very sick person would even think that." Edward Spreitzer, Gecht’s alleged partner, claims that Robin once became so furious with his wife that he cut off her nipples.
The Chicago Rippers had four members. At age 30, Gecht was the only adult and assumed the role of mentor and leader. Spreitzer was 21 and the Kokoraleis brothers, Tommy and Andrew, were only teenagers. In 1981 and 1982, the group reportedly committed dozens of murders involving rape, torture and mutilation.
Gecht claims that he is innocent of the murders, innocent of any murder for that matter, and that he didn’t even know the other members when most of the victims were killed. "First mistake...is considering me a serial killer...am not considered one...I have never killed or took part in any such acts nor ever charged in any murders of anyone." This last part — about being charged — is true. Of the four men supposedly responsible for these killings, Gecht is the only one who was not charged with murder. The other three not only confessed to their involvement, but claimed that Gecht was in charge and they were only following his lead. Edward Spreitzer is adamant about Gecht’s guilt and offers detailed descriptions of his sick escapades: "A black female was picked up, blindfolded and gagged. Robin shoot her point blank in the head. Put chains around her neck and legs, attached two bowling balls and threw her in the water. I understand her body was not found."
In the spring of 1981, the "Rippers" found their first known victim, Linda Sutton, behind the Brer Rabbit Hotel in Chicago, a well-known hang-out for prostitutes. According to Spreitzer, Sutton was gang-raped, sodomized and her left breast was cut off while she was still alive. About a year later, a red van pulled up alongside Lorry Borowski as she was walking to work. When she declined the driver’s offer of a ride, two men jumped out of the van and grabbed her. They took her to a hotel room where they gang-raped and beat her. A wire was wound around one of her breasts and tightened until it was severed from her body and fell to the floor. According to Spreitzer’s sworn testimony, Gecht "had sex" with Borowski’s breast and then finished her off with an ax. Only days later, the "Rippers" abducted a young Chinese woman named Shui Mak, drove her to an isolated wooded area where they raped her, cut off her breasts, sliced her body to ribbons and buried her in a hole. Apparently, Rose Beck, a businesswoman known for her independent mind and outspokenness, was a victim who was not willing to go without a fight. When her body was found, a pool of dried blood lay beneath her anal cavity and her face was crushed beyond recognition.
The "Ripper’s" last known victim, a teenage prostitute, lived to tell her tale and was able to identify Gecht’s van. After Edward Spreitzer went to the police and gave them a full confession, police closed in on the group and arrested them. By that point, many, many women had come forward with chilling tales of the tortures they said Robin Gecht had inflicted on them. Most of these tortures included some form of breast mutilation with needles and knives. Several women said Gecht had asked them to cut off their own nipples because Robin wanted to see "how they worked." Not surprisingly, Robin denies this.
Gecht was charged with kidnapping, rape and attempted manslaughter of this last victim and incarcerated in Menard Correctional Facility in Illinois. The kidnapping and rape charges have since been dropped. Gecht is still desperately trying to obtain the DNA testing that he is certain will clear him of all charges. So far, he has been unsuccessful; no one will budge on the issue of DNA testing.
"I don’t only face the injustices, but the nightmares that follows. You have no idea the pain and hurt I face and feel every single day I sit here and loose hope. I’m not an angel...but I never intentionally hurt anyone unless it was to protect myself or my family. I could never live with killing or knowing I was responsible for taking ones life." Despite powerful eyewitness testimony, there is simply no hard evidence to prove that Robin Gecht is guilty of anything but attempted murder of the last victim. Gecht’s family, especially his wife, are 100 percent behind him, believe in his innocence, and look forward to the day when he will be eligible for parole in 2022.

Hope my letter finds you & your family well.
Receved your letter. When firist receving it, I thought to myself, how nice for someone to take the time to be concerned. Until I read it & realized it not to be the case here.
I sat here thinking to myself. Where would she get so badly misinformed to write with judgement? After a few minutes it dawned on me. Your reading the book Deadly Thrills [by Jaye Slade Fletcher]. THAT woman should write for Steven King. I'm so sorry you've wasted your money. But if you enjoy fantsy. You got it!!! "News flash"! The book was wrote to sell! However you don't know me only what you have read. So please don't judge before you have facts, not fiction as you've gotton!
I have enclosed a legal Court Petition. It is a request by me 4 years ago requesting D.N.A. testing. Please note what I was charged with. Only!! Not going to tell you I'm an angel. But I can tell you if I was guilty of murder or of what [Fletcher says in Deadly Thrills]. Question? Would I request for D.N.A. testing? Would be pretty stupid on my part if so. Read up on D.N.A. then think on my question.
I can't tell you why some choose to kill woman. I love & have alot of respect for them & life itself. Your right to believe as you wish. As I said, know me before judgement. My conviction is based on one persons word. Nothing more.
I'm sorry if I disappoint you here but I'm not going to write you just to defend myself. If you've made up your mind I'm guilty as charged or more so, as your reading, then I'd rather not get into being friends or penpals. I'm not going to add to fansity of others.
I do hold a lot of remorse for all that suffer needless & for my children & what this system put us all through the past 15 years. But faith in God above keeps me fighting. I'll have the last say. Anger? DAMN Right. There wrong. Would you be mad??
As for woman. I love woman & I hold a lot of respect for them. However you wouldn't know that would you? You read otherwise. Take it as truth. I do respect them. I too one day would like to know why, most are threated as they are. But not by me.
I don't enjoy letters or phone calls filed with judgements that says "What a Monster"! I'm long from the fanisty that woman cop [Fletcher] choose to write about. Nothing she wrote is based on Court records or family. Thank you for your letter however. I would of typed this but, recovering from a mild heart attack on 5-15 & was to tired to dig the typewriter out.
If you choose to write back, I'd enjoy it. But no judgement. Unless your 100% possitive I'm guilty of all stated. You might be shocked to see your wrong here.
I've never been charged with murder nor ever asked about it. & my out date now is at 2002. In 96 2 charges were dropped. DEVIATE SEXUAL ASSAULT & KIDNIPPING. Shock YA?

Hi! Received you're letter & was nice hearing from you again, however still being somewhat obtuse, aren't we?
When I read your letter, it sure seems I've been down this path before! Only to soon find out she also was a writer. I don't mind, but if you want to really know ME & not what's in a book of fairy-tales [Deadly Thrills], I strongly suggest you visit & then I'll be thrilled to answer these ill questions, if I can or as truthful as possible & not as your reading as too someone's fantasy.
I will answer what your asking here however! My heart-attack on April 14th had nothing to do with HATE or Prison. Smoking, lack of exercize & stress caused it. At 43, I expected worse behind these walls. It was a warning from above saying, take better care of myself or DEAD DUCK CITY I go!!! I am today!!
I dis-like some people due to STUPIDITY, but never HATE.
There is much too much hate & judgment in our world today without myself adding to it.
I have in 14 years learned to FORGIVE, but not forget! What's happened to me today & these past years will not go un-answered! Everyone will have their day in Court. More so for profit & gain other than facts? Know me first then form an opinion if it's that important to you & for you to understand whatever it is your seeking. Are you afraid that you might be wrong in thought here. What have you got to loose by seeking truth before judgments? You are doing that, regardless what you tell me. However our NEWSPAPER REPORTERS had nothing better to do so they printed it. As time passes, It's been added to & sold over & over again… WE live in a very sick world & shit as your reading all the way back to lies at Raswell or the 1800 Jack the Ripper murder in London. Amazes me how people get hard-ons reading fantasy.
Better & more ill things said about Mr. Gecht, the better is sells. Did the same for John W. Gacy & made him a model to most. NOT to me of course. He was a very sick person.
However NO ONES DEAD here & yet I'm this awful monster. Why is that? I can't answer or take credit for what these other guys say they did. Believe it or not, with the exception of one murder where they killed a guy at a phone booth, I didn't know them when these others they say were commited. Truth to why I was never charged.

I'll leave you again with my question I asked before! IF I'm responsible as charged... Why won't they run the D.N.A. on me? Would prove I was or wasn't! TRUE??? I offered to pay even the cost.. Thats 24 hrs... so far it's taken the STATE 4 yrs & still won't comply.. SOMETHINGS WRONG!!! You consider that FACTS OR FICTION!
As to police framing me. Or why me? I can fully answer that question, anymore then the 17 men here in Illinois ALONE that's been freed in the last four years through D.N.A. cuz police made a HONEST MISTAKE as well as STATE'S ATTORNEYS ECT. Took only from 10 to 15 yrs to find out. Or ask these 7 men accross the states that were put to death for a crime they later are to be found not guilty of, only cuz police & State made a mistake & covered it up. I can't answer to, why me? Can you? I can answer why they have refused to act on giving me some fair justice here!!! To much B.S. has been added in this case, Media can't let go! Police are scared what will happen when they must answer to why I've been convicted yet they knew otherwise... Look into the CRUZ case now going on in DU-PAGE COUNTY ILLINOIS. 4 States Attorneys. 5 DET. & INVESTAGATORS are all being indicted for the CRUZ MURDER CASE. ASK HIM WHY POLICE FRAMED HIM & THEY KNEW THAT THEY HAD THE REAL KILLER ALREADY IN JAIL MONTHS LATER. CRUZ Spend 15 yrs here at Menard on Death row to be PUT TO DEATH late this year. Today he is FREE & CLEAR, Why cuz a lawyer didn't get scared of our State & dug in & through D.N.A. found he & his partner was not guilty. A little more digging, they found the REAL police reports. ONE BIG COVER-UP, cuz the Media & the public had been made FULLY awear CRUZ was their KILLER of a 10 yr old girl. NO ONE MAKES MISTAKES HERE, WE'RE ALL GUILTY! Know why, Judgamental assholes that know shit about laws, & feel if YOUR CONVICTED & THEY WRITE A BOOK OR YOU COME TO PRISON.. YOU MUST BE 100% GUILTY OF THAT CRIME... TELL that to those that were put to death for NOTHING or us that still pray for fair justice.

Books like that cuz others to comit crime much worse. Trust me here! I'm told the Movie didn't do it right & I wanted to see what it was like doing it right?
She's dead & he got life. Over a movie.

Other than that, I get wonderful letters of Love & support from all over the world. And a lot of visits.. FRIENDS.
